If you’re looking to upgrade your hardware to something new – or perhaps you’re just exploring the world of RISC OS and are thinking about buying your first bit of hardware – there will be something for you at the show, with at least two exhibitors offering hardware on which to run the operating system.
One of these is R-Comp, with an extensive range of systems to their name – such as Project N.Ex.T, 4té2, mini.pi, the multi-headed Hydra, and many more. For RISC OS North, R-Comp will be showing off a Raspberry Pi 5 add-on to the Hydra and N.Ex.T systems.
Another vendor of new computers – and kits that allow you to put your own together – is RISCOSbits. Specialising in stylish case designs and adopting snappy names for systems and cases, you’ll be spoilt for choice for a new computer. Amongst other things, RISCOSbits will have a Linux add-on at the show for certain of their systems that makes use of a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5.
As well as computers themselves, you may find hardware elsewhere on the day – such as graphics tablets available from Drag ‘n Drop, and you’ll be able to talk to Chris Hall about some of his hardware projects, and Andrew Conroy about his.
